Abstract (EN)

In today's world, technology and digitalization are driving rapid transformations across all areas of life, including the banking sector. Banks are increasingly investing in digitalization to reduce operational costs, streamline business processes, and enhance customer satisfaction. One of the most striking implementations of this digital transformation is the remote customer onboarding process. Through this innovative approach, customers can now complete all necessary procedures online via digital channels without the need to visit a physical branch. Consequently, traditional banking practices are being replaced by faster, more accessible, and customer-friendly systems. This study examines the benefits of remote customer onboarding, one of the most significant outcomes of digitalization in the banking sector, from the perspective of banks. In this context, the impacts of remote customer onboarding on operational efficiency, cost management, and customer experience are analyzed in detail based on the sectoral data of participation and deposit banks. Furthermore, the Johansen cointegration analysis method is employed to investigate the long-term effects of remote customer onboarding in the banking sector and the linear relationships of these effects. This method provides scientific depth to the study by revealing the enduring impacts of remote customer onboarding on the performance of banks.
