Abstract (EN)
USING OF THE EXPERT SYSTEM FOR DIAGNOSTIC PURPOSES IN MEDICINE ( M. Sc. Thesis ) Ahmet BABALIK GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY August 2000 ABSTRACT In this project, an expert system was developed which identifies throat infections, Hepatitis B, D infections. In the system, Borland Database Engine was used as a database engine. The programing environment is Borland Delphi 4.0 client/server suite. There are two table which holds the expert system rules and there other table for holding patients data. The tables which holds patients data is related each other by using relational database architecture. There are 76 rules for identifying throat infections and 128 rule for Hepatitis A and B. In throat infection module it is necessary to have a dialog with the patient for identifying the problem. To reach the result the backward-chaining inference algorithm was used. The Hepatitis modul uses rule-based inference to reach the result. In hepatitis module the HBs Ag, Hbe Ag, Anti HBe, Anti HBs, Anti HBc Igm, Anti HBc IgG (Total) and Anti Delta blood parameters were used to find the result.
