Abstract (EN)
Warts are benign lesions that can occur in different clinical appearances with different types of HPV (human papillomavirus), affecting the mucosa and skin. Flat wart, a clinical subtype of warts, can more frequently affect the face and rarely the extremities and trunk. There are many treatment methods. Topical vitamin A derivatives and plasma energy are two of these treatment methods. Material/Method: 60 patients who were diagnosed with flat wart clinically and dermoscopically, and when necessary with biopsy, were included in our study. Topical vitamin A derivative treatment was applied to 30 patients and plasma energy treatment method was applied to 30 patients, and their comparative efficacies were examined within and with each other. Findings: A total of 60 patients were included in our study, 33 female (55%), 27 male (45%); There were 26 patients under the age of 18 (43,3%) and 34 patients over the age of 18 (56,7%). While 18 patients (60%) showed a total complete response up to the 3rd month after topical vitamin A treatment applied to 30 patients, a total of 23 patients (76,6%) of the patients who were applied plasma energy showed a complete response until the next check-up after the 3rd month. The remaining patients were evaluated as partial response. When the two treatment efficiencies were compared, it was statistically shown that the effectiveness of plasma energy treatment was higher at the 3rd month. Conclusion: In this study comparing the epidemiological factors and treatments of verruca plana, we evaluated that the majority of the epidemiological factors were consistent with the information in the literature, we evaluated that it is effective when compared with studies conducted in topical vitamin A derivatives and plasma energy therapy, and that these two treatment methods, which have not been studied before, have similar effectiveness up to the 3rd month and that plasma energy therapy is superior in terms of effectiveness at the 3rd month.
