Investigation of the effect of the use of web 2.0 tools on the attitudes and achievements of primary school 3rd grade students towards mathematics course

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of using activities prepared with Web 2.0 tools in mathematics lessons on the mathematical achievements and attitudes of 3rd-grade primary school students. The research was conducted with 3rd-grade students attending a public school in the Palu district of Elazığ province during the 2023-2024 academic year. A total of 35 students participated in the study, with 17 in the experimental group and 18 in the control group. The school was selected using a convenient sampling method, and the student groups were determined by a random sampling method, one of the probabilistic sampling methods. In the experimental group, lessons were conducted with activities developed using Web 2.0 technologies, while in the control class, education was provided with activities from the curriculum book. This research lasted a total of six weeks. During the data collection process of the study, the "Attitude Towards Mathematics Scale" and the "Fraction Comprehension Test" were used. The SPSS 22 program was utilized for the evaluation of the data. The results were analyzed in accordance with the research questions. According to the findings of the research, a significant change was detected in the mathematical attitudes and achievements of the students in the experimental group where teaching methods supported by Web 2.0 technologies were applied.
