Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of teaching the subject of integers with the Kahoot application, one of the Web 2.0 tools, on the mathematics achievement, anxiety and motivation of 7th grade secondary school students. The study was conducted on secondary school 7th grade students in the 2022-2023 academic year. The research was conducted in a public school located in Maden District of Elazığ province, where one of two different branches was designated as the Experimental Group (DG) and the other as the Control Group (CG). It was applied on a total of 40 students, 20 from the experimental group and 20 from the control group. The research was conducted on students as a 6-week study. Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted to the experimental group as a result of the study. A mixed method approach was used in the study. The quantitative data of the study was conducted in a semi-experimental model with pretest-posttest groups; Semi-structured interviews were used for qualitative data. An achievement test was applied to the students in the experimental and control groups at the end of 8 weeks to measure permanence. In this study, which was conducted to examine the effects of teaching integers on success, motivation and anxiety by using the Kahoot Application, one of the Web 2.0 tools, as a data collection tool; 'Achievement Test' prepared and developed by Denli (2021), 'Mathematics Motivation Scale' developed by Kesici (2018) to measure students' motivation towards mathematics course, and 'Mathematics Motivation Scale' developed by Özdemir and Gür (2011) to measure students' anxiety and anxiety towards mathematics course. 'Mathematics Anxiety Scale' was used. An achievement test was applied to the Experimental and Control groups before and after the research to measure the students' mathematical achievements. 'Mathematics Motivation Scale' was applied to both groups before and after the research to measure whether there was a change in the students' motivation towards the mathematics course. 'Mathematics Anxiety Scale (MKEÖ)' was applied to both groups to see if there was a difference in the students' anxiety and anxiety towards the mathematics course. It was applied before and after the research to measure whether Additionally, semi-structured interviews were conducted to determine students' views on teaching. The data obtained from these measurement tools were evaluated using statistical analysis methods. By analyzing the data collection tools, it was investigated whether there was a significant difference in the success, motivation and anxiety of the groups between the pre-test and post-test scores as a result of statistical calculations. As a result of the study, the students in the experimental group had a statistically significant difference in favor of the experimental group compared to the students in the control group in terms of mathematics success, motivation and anxiety. A positive increase was observed. Based on the research results, various suggestions have been made to studies and researchers regarding movement.
