Abstract (EN)
It is has been addressed the Assyrian philosophers' and translators' contributions to logic in the Islamic world from the 5th century by the instance of Yahya Ibn 'Adi in this study. This master thesis consists of three chapter except the introduction. The study's topic, its importance and the purpose have been discussed at the introduction. The studies in logic at Assyrian and Islamic world until the Yahya Ibn Adi's time was examined with the main lines at the first chapter. Afterwards it has been tried to present and asssess Yahya Ibn 'Adi's life known as Reisu'l-Mantıkıyyın, and his social, intellectual and religious personality and his works at the second chapter. Therefore it was tried to identify the establishment of Yahya Ibn 'Adi's school known as Baghdat School and its importance and its position in the Islamic world of thought. It was analyzed Yahya Ibn 'Adi's views on logic in his works, his logic papers particularly at the third chapter. In this context, it was presented his contributions to logic about term, categories, definition, analogy and the analogy failures. At the end of the thesis, the obtained conclusions was explained.
