Abstract (EN)

The study is constituted of two main parts. In the first chapter, while the works and the literary personality of the author were mentioned, his life was not touched on. Tosun has avoided of giving information about his life in his interviews and he adamantly declined all of our attempts. No analysing about his life could be carried out in this study due to the fact that any news in the press about his life was not appeared, he emphasized on the importance of studying on his stories rather than his life and it is essential to respect his personal desire. The author is responsible for the lacks in this study arising from not knowing much about his life. In the second chapter, the narration of Yalçın Tosun was studied. In this chapter, totally 72 stories from his 4 story books were considered from various aspects. The stories of the author were evaluated in terms of content, plot, characters, point of view, setting and tone. Yalçın Tosun narrates about the inner world of the person, person's loneliness in the crowd, despair, acceptance of his destiny and being marginalised. He approaches personal or social problems, which repressed deep inside, by making the readers of his stories uneasy. It is possible to encounter with people from every age and sex in Yalçın Tosun's stories in which people from all strata are gone around. However, men are come across less when compared to women, and children continue their existence with all emotionality in most of his stories. Besides first person and third person singular narrators, the number of the stories with multiple narrators is quite a lot. The setting in his stories varies with respect to the fiction. While he is using narrow places like room, house and work place when describing notable people, he uses rural once describing lonely people. As the features of a real place can be depicted in his stories, a completely imaginary place can also be referred. The places are especially fictionalised in order to reflect the inner worlds of the characters. The time in the stories is usually a short instant. While setting the time, information about the backgrounds of the characters are given with flashbacks. Yalçın Tosun preferred a plain language that reflects the features of the spoken language. With internal monologue, dialogue and internal dialogue techniques and symbols, he created a strong tone. Key Words: Yalçın Tosun, literature, story, family, childhood.
