Abstract (EN)

Burn is a severe physical and psychological trauma that is frequently seen in society. Burn damage can be caused by heat, electricity, chemicals, radiation, boiling liquids and flames. As a result of tissue damage, skin integrity is disrupted and besides its local effects; It can cause systemic, circulatory and metabolic pathologies. Uncontrolled release of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines leads to immunological dysfunction and marked systemic inflammation. In severe burns, excessive inflammatory effect and serious metabolic disorders develop especially in the early period after burns. Meanwhile, in addition to the excessive inflammatory response, systemic disorders such as cardiac dysfunction, acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute kidney failure, bacterial translocation due to increased intestinal permeability, hypermetabolism, hypercatabolism and sepsis occur. This results in multiple organ failure and death. In this context, the aim of the study was shaped on the effect of distress on anxiety and depression in burn patients.
