Abstract (EN)
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine the frequency of exposure to violence and burnout level of health professionals working in Şırnak Province, to evaluate the relationship between violence and professional attitudes and burnout, and to determine the factors affecting them. Materials and Methods: The population of the research was Şırnak State Hospital (400), İdil State Hospital (130), Dr. 930 health professionals working at Selahattin Cizrelioğlu State Hospital (400), and the sample consisted of 310 health professionals selected by random sampling method, which is one of the improbable sampling methods. The data of the study were collected by using the "SocioDemographic and Research-Related Questions Form", "Maslach Burnout Scale (VTS)," and "Professional Attitudes in Occupation Inventory (MPTE)". Results: The mean age of the participants in the study was 29.71±4.9, and the average monthly overtime working hours were 64.56±3.58. 161 (51.9%) were subjected to violence in the institution where they work, and 143 (73.3%) were exposed to verbal violence. 138 (44.5%) of the victims of violence were exposed to violence due to intolerance to wait, nothing was done as a result of the complaints of 102 (32.9%) of the complainants, and no punishment was given as a result of the complaints of 54 (61.4%), and the perpetrator was released. 135 (72.2%) of them had decreased desire to work after the violence, and 160 (83.3%) of those who were exposed to violence did not receive support from their managers after being exposed to violence. A negative correlation was found between age and MBI sub-dimensions, and a weak and positive correlation with MPTE total score average. In the study, a iv moderately significant negative correlation was observed between the MPTE total score average of the participants and the MBI emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal failure sub-dimension mean score. Although the MBI sub-dimensions differed significantly in different variables, it was observed that emotional exhaustion and depersonalization were significantly higher in those who thought about resigning and quitting their profession after the violence. The personal failure sub-dimension was not affected by questions about violence. Although it was found that MPTE differed significantly in different variables, it was found to be significantly higher in those who did not plan to leave the profession due to violence. Conclusion: It has been observed that violence and its effects affect emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, sub-dimensions of burnout. It has been determined that professional professionalism is not affected by violence. As the participants' MPTE total scores increased, they experienced less emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal failure. In our study, in order to prevent the increase in violence in health, and increase the penalties against violence in health, there is no single and comprehensive regulation on violence in health. Because the laws are scattered among various laws, ensuring that the awareness of law enforcement is increased by including them in a single rule, violence against health professionals. It is recommended that deterrent punishments be given to the people who are applied, and necessary studies should be carried out to change the perspective of the media on the health community. Regular training should be given about this. Key Words: Nursing, violence, professional attitude in the profession; burnout
