Abstract (EN)

During the 1990's, there were many dramatic technological improvements in information and communication industry. All outputs provided by information and communication industry were turned into capital inputs by all other industries. This development has created many structural changes in economic and social areas. These changes, afterwards are later named "New Economy", as the basis of a new economic paradigm. New economy changed external environmental conditions of businesses. These changes have also affected the place of labor force at work. In other words, in New Economy, the profiles of managers and workers have been transformed. Management is moved to virtual network. But this did not create a radical change at the profile of managers. This is to say that the profile of professional manager did not disappear. This can be seen as anew dimension to be added to the professionalization of managers. The reason for this is that scientificity, information network which are placed at the core of professional management type remained unchanged by New Economy. In addition to the transformation of managerial profile, employee profile transformed as well. Especially the countries which undergo extraordinary transformation in New Economy, the role of information worker takes the big part in the labor force. With this quantity approach and information being the primary power, information worker settled down at the core of New Economy. With changes in the profiles of manager and worker, manager- worker relations have also changed. The reason for these changes lies in the new developments that happened in 1990's with the spread of New Economy phenomenon. In an effort for adaptation to new developments, many contemporary concepts are discussed. The most basic concepts are innovative management targeting the creative individuals, intellectual capital, learning organization, and empowerment. The molecular characteristic feature of new economy transformed the organization structure. As a result of these transformations, manager-worker relations affected one another. Especially, the virtual teams are transformed drastically. The most important concepts of organizations structure are; outsourcing, virtual organization, zero hierarchy, cluster organization and reengineering. Communication and information technology that led to creation of new economy deeply affected manager - worker relations. One and the most radical is that of virtual teams. Therefore, all these are the most basic requirements that managers have to take care in New Economy. Keywords: New Economy, Manager, Worker.
