Abstract (EN)

Recently, individuals have been using technology more actively. Many features of the new media are utilized in obtaining information, following the agenda, and being included in the agenda. When we look at the social information movements, it is seen that the new media and social media channels have an important place in these issues and this is effective in the formation of the new information flow. The fact that the new media allows for all kinds of feedback and interaction shows the difference between the new media and the traditional media. National and local press have also started to increase their role in the new media due to the digital transformation of technology. However, the gaps in the direction of control and regulatory, inclusive law in new media environments help users to act more freely in new media, and even to produce and spread hate speech. This affects refugees and other minority groups. Hate speech is also observed in the news of the local press on official websites. For this reason, in this thesis, some news on the official websites of local newspapers published in Mersin, which receives heavy immigration, were examined, and hate speech in the news language was investigated in this way.
