Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted with 222 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse of whom agreed to participate voluntarily in the study using a questionnaire consisting of 41 questions between dates of 01.06.2015 and 30.11.2015. . Number, percentage, mean and chi-square tests were used to evaluate the data. All necessary ethical and legal permits were obtained before starting to the research. It was determined that %58.1 of the health workers have a graduated degree and ,%25.7 are working in the NICU for 3-6 years. All nurses received at least one training; %76,1 about MV and mechanical ventilation education, %73,9 about aspiration and %70,3 about oral care. It was determined statistically reasonable differences among MV type using in the unit, aspiration frequency, risks that may develop during aspiration, materials using for the oral care, connect reason with in-service training, positioning during the aspiration; receiving NIC certificate with implementing pressure and time during the MV, working years with in the NICU and implementing pressure and time during aspiration (p<0.05). It was determined that nurses were taken training on the subject of MV, aspiration, positioning and oral care, however there were wrong implementations. Receiving in-service training and certificate of the nurse's, forming treatments procedure, serving of the experts in the units are may be suggested.
