Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the predictive power of self-compassion and mindfulness levels in predicting moral disengagement in adult individuals. A total of 276 individuals who have reached the age of 18 participated in the study. For research data, a demographic information form, the Moral Disengagement Scale, the Mindfulness Scale, and the Short Form of the Self-Compassion Scale were used. To investigate the level at which self-compassion and mindfulness variables predict moral disengagement, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was conducted. The findings revealed a negative relationship between moral disengagement and self-compassion as well as a positive relationship between mindfulness and self-compassion. It was also found that the level of mindfulness predicts moral disengagement, while the level of self-compassion does not predict moral disengagement. The explanatory power of this model was determined to be 4.5%.
