Abstract (EN)

Every society has a unique culture that is composed of their value judgments, beliefs, behaviors, traditions and customs. One of the important parts of this culture treasure is the clothing culture that is composed of clothing style including the clothing and accessories. Although the clothing culture shows difference according the smallest societies, it takes shape as per the society?s cultural values. Therefore, it is worthwhile researching and investigating the problems regarding the clothing culture of the persons after they start to live in a country with an another culture, who were grown up in Turkish culture.This study performed in order to determine the adaptation problems regarding the clothing culture of the Turkish women who live abroad is a descriptive research based on screening model. 394 Turkish women above age 20 who live in London city that hosts not only a lot of different cultures but has its unique and fundamental culture as well, of England do constitute the sampling of the research. As per the analysis of the data obtained from the questionnaires that is prepared by the researcher, it is determined that people who were living in big cities of Turkey have less problems regarding the clothing culture after they start to live London, whereas people who were living in towns or villages and people who have an income of less than 1000£/month have more problems. Besides, it is determined that people in the sample population 50 and over age 50 have much more adaptation problems and it is observed that these problems generally arise from the length and decolleté of the clothing.Key Words: clothing culture, clothing, adaptation problem, Turks who live abroad
