Abstract (EN)

More than %80 percent of The child admitted to te emergency room because of the head trauma is minor head trauma. Because of The number of child who had minor head injuries are high and the number of the cases which are necessary of intervention are low; the physicians of emergency servise faces to difficulties of diagnostic tests, urgently distinguished the child with minor head injuries who need to be and prevent the serious mortality and morbidity to treating this child. When the children with minor head injuries (GCS 14-15) to evaluate by Cranial CT, the results are normal by 90% and this obtained by studies. In this study, the records and files of pediatric patients 0-15 years age who admitted Dicle University Hospital Emergency Room because head trauma, between 1 january 2012- 31 december 2013, are screened. Clinical and demographic characteristics of the patients, radiographic examinations performed (CT shooting) and the results were analyzed retrospectively. First of all the emergency autpatient book screened and taken the name and emergency services protocols of teh patient who admitted for head trauma were exemined. To use this protocols and names the the patients examination cards were taken from archive ; the patients selected and included the study by criteria which previously determined. From the physical exemination cards; age, gender, how the trauma were happened( simple falls, non-vehicle traffic accident, high falls, sports injuries, stairs Rolling, heavy objects falls to head, etc), level of teh consciousness of patients (gcs), the clinical status of patients( headache, swelling, cuts, vomiting, amnesia-consciousness changes, dermal abrasion, etc), CT results of the patients(SAH, edeme, fractures, etc), whether they followed at emergency services were noted on forms which seperatly created. A total of 600 patients were included in the 24-month study period. Additional organ injury, which are major trauma patients, those under the GKS 14, wounded by a heavy mechanism (jump, motor vehicle collision that killed overturn or passenger of a motor vehicle by emitting or bcycle the untitled as distortion, etc.), mental status unusual, those additional diseases were excluded from the study resumes. 317 isolated mild head trauma cases were investigated which had evaluated by Cranial CT. Patients were divided into 2 groups according to the eligibility rules of the PECARN: Patients need a head CT according to the rules of PECARN PECARN compatible (PECARN +), patients unnecessary to need CT according to the rules of PECARN PECARN incompatible (PECARN -). As a result; because of serious radiaiont exposure, for evaluation and follow-up the children with minor head trauma primarly neurological examination and clinical monitoring must be given importantly, however serious head injury selected should be assessed with some cases of CCT.
