Abstract (EN)
This thesis examined the synthesis of novel hybrid molecules with anti-diabetic activity, combining indole and 1,3,4-oxadiazole structures with biological activity on a single molecule. The inhibitory effects of these molecules on α-amylase and α-glucosidase enzymes were also investigated. For the purposes of this study, novel 1,3,4-oxadiazole-linked bis- and mono- indoles were synthesized and their inhibitory activities against both α-amylase and α-glycosidase enzymes were then investigated. The structures of the new compounds synthesized in this thesis were elucidated using 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FT-IR and mass spectroscopy. Furthermore, suitable crystals were obtained for some compounds, and their structures were elucidated using the single-crystal X-ray technique.
