Page 731This thesis is 138 number of the ?Edirne Şer‛iyye Records? and the record includesthe years between 1119-1161 B.C./1707-1748 A.D.We established that Edirne was in thecentral ?kazâ? status and was subject to the Province of Rumeli.n this our thesis, we presented the transcription and the abstracts of the documentsthat the records contain after we gave datas concerning the charactericts of the şer‛iyyerecords and Ottoman justice organization .Lastly, we evaluated the economic, ethnographic, political ve administrative structureof Edirne only on the basis of the şer‛iyye records.We determined that Edirne ?Kazâ? had 4 ?nâhiye? and 29 villages which were subject tothe ?kazâ? .There are also inventories of the estates in addition to the documents relevantto wakf in the records. We observe that the rental properties of waqf were in ruins onaccount of another reasons or fire also confiscated to the estate?s inventories of personswho died without heir by ?Beytü?l-mal?.We observe that phrases pertaining to broom sellers, painters, soapers such as ?SabuncularHânı, Boyahâne, Süpürgeciler Hânı? and also the board work which become famous inEdirne today were mentioned in records.We learn from the records that the martial managers behaved cruelty to raya in EdirneKazâ and in the vicinity of it.Keyword: Edirne Şer`iyye Records, Khadı, Town, Province
