Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the correlation between individuals' levels of food neophobia and their eating attitudes. To collect data, the Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26) and the Food Neophobia Scale (FNS-10) were utilized. The study group consisted of 345 adult individuals. Participants' demographic and health characteristics, along with their anthropometric measurements, were evaluated. According to the findings, food neophobia scores were significantly higher among individuals aged 42 and over, those with a high school education or lower, and those who were unemployed. Eating attitude scores were significantly higher in women and university graduates. Furthermore, disordered eating attitudes were more frequently observed in participants under the age of 42. Both the eating attitude scores and the prevalence of disordered eating were notably higher among individuals who were on or had previously followed a weight loss diet. The study findings indicate that food neophobia and eating attitudes are associated with age, gender, educational level, and certain health-related behaviors.
