The 1960's fashion revolution and it's reflections to the jewellery design in west

1960`s which was the beginings of many cultural, political, economic and technologic initials, is also important for the fashion clothing history. Too many factors like; Fast economic growth in the Western populations following aftermaths of the Second World War, expectations of the consumers whose puchasing power and living standards gradually icreased; effect of popular media on societies; demands of the youth who have more to say on every field of life and became boostering power of the Western communities; the encounters of the women`s movements for equity and sexual liberalism; new techniques and materials discovered due to the speeding up of the scientific researchs; liveliness in the field of art and new trends; became effective on the fashion revolution of the 1960`s.In the west civilizations an important revolution occured not only in the field of clothing fashion, but in the field of the jewellery design too, which affected todays design sense. During these years that the designing concepts radically changed, as a consequence of the brave searchings of young generation jewellery designers; the powerful interactions with plastic arts; usage of the new techniques and materials; reforms in the jewellery designing trainings and supporting of the international exhibitions by museums and galleries, the traditional structure in this field has changed; the artistic value of the jewellery has counteracted the monetary value; and laid the foundation of present contemprary jewellery designing concept. The relationship between form and function and the new terms like ?Wearable Sculpture? or ?Wearable Object? has came into question while the customers began to see the jewellery as a mean of communication which descripes their identities. .The aim of this work is to search all these important changes by observing the social, political and cultural evolution and their results as a revolution in the field of 1960?s fashion and jewellery design in west and use these results specially to get new profits for stimulating the jewellery sector in our country .
