Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this thesis is to calculate the energy gain to be obtained from solar energy for Artvin province using photovoltaic technologies and its contribution to our country. The first section describes the basics and structures of photovoltaic modules. The second section describes photovoltaic power systems and types of photovoltaic systems. The third section presents the technical and legal requirements of Turkey and explains the laws and tariffs for installing a photovoltaic system. The fourth part contains the geographical situation and meteorological data of Artvin, the solar radiation and the ambient temperature of the region throughout the year. The system has been dimensioned and calculated. The component selection of different photovoltaic systems has been made. A careful study has been carried out for the selection of the most correct modules and inverters for the systems. The last part shows the sizing and simulation of different photovoltaic systems. In this section, the number of modules and inverters required for each system, the total required area and economic analysis are presented. The simulation of different photovoltaic systems was carried out by PVSOL software. This software has an extensive meteorological database, including global solar radiation, widespread radiation and ambient temperature throughout the year. In addition, there is a database of solar energy components from various manufacturers. After analyzing the results of different photovoltaic systems, it was possible to see which technology would be preferred for this system. First, an economic analysis was conducted to see which cell technology would be most financially viable, including calculations of the energy derived from solar energy and the payback of each photovoltaic system. After the analysis of the results, monocrystalline technology has shown superiority over others. In other words, the installation of a self-consuming grid-connected photovoltaic system with monocrystalline technology will provide a faster return on investment and generates electricity at a lower price and higher return than other photovoltaic systems.
