Assesment of the preschool education program of 2006

The objective of this study is to examine the views of teachers regarding the preschool education program of 2006. The study was conducted by adopting the screening model. Quantitative and qualitative data collection methods were used in the data collection process. While quantitative data were collected through survey, qualitative data were collected through interview form. No sampling was conducted in the study and the survey was applied to all of the teachers (383) rendering service in kindergartens of the Ministry of National Education in eight central districts of Ankara (Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Keçiören, Mamak, Sincan, Yenimahalle). The interview form, on the other hand, was applied to twenty teachers. At the end of the study; it was determined that teachers assess the objectives in an applicable way, encounter with various problems during the application of objectives, assess certain days and weeks in an applicable way and in line with the development of children; assess the activities in a relatively applicable way and encounter with various problems during the application of activities from time to time; apply the assessment instruments from time to time and encounter with various problems during the application; apply the family participation activities from time to time and encounter with various problems during the application, consider the teacher?s guide book insufficient and use it partially; and assess the activities of psychomotor, social-emotional, lingual, cognitive fields and self-care skills as sufficient.
