Vatican's Middle East policy after 2013

In this study, the Middle East policy of the Vatican after the election of Pope Francis as Pope in 2013 was studied. The aim of study was to investigate the foreign policy of the Vatican for the world and its Middle East policy in particular, considering the changing dynamics in world politics. This study is important for shedding light on the Middle East policy of the Vatican as global soft power. The method used here was to the handle the Vatican's method of regional activity in an interpretive manner. In the first part of three-part study, named "Demonology"; the understanding of the devil by the Vatican, as a theocratic state in today's world, and the origins of threats against it are investigated. In the second part, the Vatican's world policy which takes form under the title of "The External Church" in terms of the Vatican in global sense and in the third part, the policies developed with the countries that are centers of crisis in the Middle East were investigated. Based on the reality of the continued instability in the region, it is concluded that the foreign policy of the Vatican is along the lines of; the preservation of Eastern Christianity which has a material and spiritual background 2000 years old, the avoidance of any change in the status quo of the Holy Land and especialy the reduction of instability for the preservation of interreligious dialogue with the Islamic world.
