AIM: The aim of this study is to evaluate the urgent operations in our operating theatre retrospectively. MATERIAL AND METHODS: In this study; 1951 patients who underwent urgent operations in Dicle University Main Medical Operation Theatre from 2014 to 2015 are assessed retrospectively. Patients' datas were ensured from the operating seizures book, anesthesia documents and the information system of the hospital. Patients were evaluated according to age, sex, ethyology (trauma and non-trauma caused operations), anesthesia type and the needs of intensive care unit transport. RESULTS: In this retrospective rewiev; %41,8 of 1951 patients were male and %58,2 of the patients were female. According the name of departments; Gynecology and Obstetrics (%35,3) was the most performing urgent surgery then It's followed by the General Surgery (14,3) and the Orthopedics and Traumatology (14,0). The non-traumatic cases ( %81,4) were more than the traumatic cases (%18,6).The number of the performed general anesthesia(%60,2) was more than the regional anesthesia(%34,5) and the sedo-analgesia (%5,3). The most performed regional anesthesia was spinal anesthesia. %11,4 of the patients who underwent urgent operation were transferred to the intensive care unit. CONCLUSION: The patients undergoing urgent operations must be examined widely by the anesthesiologists. Also the anesthesiologists have to know and prevent the complications that may occur during the surgery. Communication between the anesthesiologist and the surgeon must be given paramount importance.
