Then, the choice of the form of government of the republican period and the reasons for this preference were emphasized and the importance of the presidential authority and its change over time were discussed in detail in the context of constitutions, elections, actors and power struggles to come to the authority. In this study, the presidential government system and the reasons for the transition to this system are examined in detail. Presidency in Turkey in the context of the above examinations, always at the top has been involved in the observance of the most important authorities and the country's politics. We can understand this from the establishment of the presidential office in order to ensure the full manifestation of the will of the people while Atatürk stands as a presidential system. For this reason, the presidential office has always turned into a power struggle and has become the center of attention of power centers such as the army trying to influence politics. Due to the importance of the Presidency; In order to get rid of the stalemates of the parliamentary system, to prevent economic crises, to prevent government crises, to ensure the independence of the powers, to remove the double head of the executive, the system was changed and the new system was called the Presidential Government System.
