Population underlies socio-economical potential and structure of a well-defined country. Counting, Sorting and analysis which were made detailed in population statistics also contribute to goverments to make plans about its future. Population censuses are formed with values that are created a nation and these censuses are formed by making statistics about these values. When People exhibit Number, Gender, Age Distribution, Job, Language, Religion, Educational Status, ıt is very important for people who will make a study to investigate the sociological, economical and histrorical aspects and write the social history of that population. When we look into the reason of population census, number and quantity of society who lived under control of Ottomon must have known. The main reason of population census in Ottomons was to identify the taxpayers of male population and identify the male population who would be enrolled. The first population census in Ottomon was carried through II. Mahmut period in 1946 (1831). It was carried through to provide soldiers for Asakiri Mensureyi Muhammediye Army which had been established instead of Yeniçeri Ocağı in 1826. Kayseri was included in population census with the towns which are bound to Karaman State since it was a town of Karaman State. In this article, we wil investigate the population register notebook which is called as "2023 number H 1260/1844 Kayseri and Its Vıcınıty Muslim Population Register Notebook" in Prime Ministry's Ottoman Archives Population Register Notebook Series. During this research, we will have a chance to learn demographic structure, population movement and names, nicknames, military service status of resident families and commisioned officers via information stored in the register notebook number 2023.
