Abstract (EN)
316LVM stainless steel materials, which are among the metallic biomaterials used in the biomedical field, have been developed in place of 316L stainless steels due to their ferromagnetic structure as a result of their high iron content and corrosion in the places exposed to pressure within the body. With 316LVM stainless steels obtained by melting 316L stainless steel under vacuum, its biocompatibility, superior mechanical properties, wear and corrosion resistance stand out. 316LVM stainless steel is considered to be difficult to process due to its superior mechanical properties, low thermal conductivity, wear, corrosion resistance and ductility. Especially in machining of 316LVM stainless steels, the changes in surface integrity outputs, which we call surface properties of processed material, may affect fatigue, corrosion and wear resistance. For these reasons, it is important to examine the changes in surface integrity characteristics in machining of 316LVM stainless steels in terms of wear behavior. Within the scope of this thesis, the changes in surface integrity characteristics of 316LVM stainless steel materials after machining with different cutting parameters and their effects on wear behavior were investigated. As the hardness value of the processed material increased, the wear rate decreased, and the increase in the cutting speed and feed rate increased the average surface roughness and increased the wear rate. Abrasive and adhesive wear mechanisms were formed as wear mechanisms, and it was observed that with increasing surface roughness, flakes formed on the surface and oxidized wear residues increased.
