Transcription and evaluation of the Book of Cyprus Administrative Council number thirteen two (1876-1877)

Cyprus was conquered by the Ottoman state in 979/1570and came under Ottoman rule. As a result of the 1839 Tanzimat and 1856 Reform Edicts, Cyprus island was one of the first places where many administrative and social arrangements were applied. In this sense, the Cyprus governor, which has reached up to sixteen accidents from time to time, was established. Likewise, the Sancak Administrative Council was established to assist the governor and to make decisions on many issues related to the sancak. In this study, the decision summaries were issued after the transcription of the book Cyprus Administrative Council number thirteen two in the Ottoman Archive. Thisthesisconsists of four parts. In the first and second sections, after giving information about the administrative and social structure of the Ottoman period Cyprus, the shape of the change in administrative structures in Cyprus with the sequential regulations depending on the Tanzimat and Reform Edicts. In addition, information was given about the members of the Board of Directors and their work. In the third section, the content of the book was evaluated; In the fourth section, a summary of these decisions is given. There are 341 decisions in the book. There are many data regarding the economic, social and political structure of Cyprus in these decisions. Accordingly, many agricultural products are cultivated and fruit growing is carried out in Cyprus. It is seen that such activities are affected by grasshopper invasion and natural disasters. Especially taxes and related complaints constitute the majority of the decisions. It is also observed that Cyprus is exported to other cities in provisions.
