Abstract (EN)
The hypotheses based on the relationships between performance and job satisfaction originate from the idea that the performance of individuals who are satisfied their jobs will be greater than others. The 3600 performance assessment process can be used as an effective tool in order to meet the needs of organization members and to obtain the expected job satisfaction. Hence, it can be thought that the 3600 performance assessment implementations impact the job satisfaction. Within ?The Performance Management Model? of ?The Imporevent Project of National Education?, The Ministry of National Education of The Republic of Turkey has started to assess teachers? performances using multiple data sources so as to change the traditional inspection concept in public schools. This new model has been implemented in some schools and is being prepared to implement in some schools. The main goal of this study is to investigate the impacts of 3600 performance assessment implementations on the job satisfaction of teachers from several respects. To aim this, the job satisfaction levels of teachers who are working at schools in which the 3600 performance assessment system is implemented and the job satisfaction levels of teachers who are working at schools in which the 3600 performance assessment system is not implemented are compared with respect to the following eight dimensions: Management style, promotion possibilities, role structure, relationships with coworkers, communication structure, joining to decisions, job characteristics and working conditions and finally social environment. Regarding these dimensions of job satisfaction, a total of 40 hypotheses are conducted and tested. The population of the research is the teachers working at high schools of Kütahya city and the sample is consisted of a total of 159 teachers. The ?Job Satisfaction Scale? is used to measure the job satisfaction levels of teachers. Depending on the structure data sets, hypotheses are tested using Analyse of Variance (ANOVA) and t-test techniques. In addition, the opinions of teachers working at schools where 3600 performance assessment system is implemeted are also investigated with respect to several aspects. The teachers? opinions are presented using graphics and croos tables and the relationships among some demographical variables and opinions are tested with Chi- Square test technique. According to the research findings, there is no significant difference between job satisfaction levels of teachers who are working at schools where 3600 performance assessment system is implemeted and job satisfaction levels of teachers who are working at schools where 3600 performance assessment system is not implemeted. This is resulted that the 3600 performance assessment system of National Education Ministry has no significant impact on the job satisfaction levels of teachers working at high schools in Kütahya city. On the other hand, research findings also show that the opinions of teachers about the 3600 performance assessment system significantly differantiate with respect to some demographical variables.
