6 and 7 September 1955 incidents, an anthropological case analysis in the context of the collective memory and media

The research focuses on how the Rum community in Turkey perceives the incidents, although a long time has passed since the 6 and 7 September 1955 Istanbul incidents, and how the Democratic Party government used the media tools collaboratively as a state apparatus to create a new and national collective memory. The D.P government's aim could be accepted to change the minorities' native-ness, displacement, and acquiescence stages after the 6 and 7 September 1955 Istanbul Incidents. This research analyses the collected data from fieldwork through ethnographic methods such as ethnographic interviews, participant observation, and focus groups. 6 and 7 September 1955 İstanbul incidents can be read as a unique example to understand how the D.P government quickly destroyed the right of minorities through an incident.
