In this study, primary 6th and 7th grade Turkish education programs in classrooms and textbooks in social studies and history texts and the issues associated with the old and new curricula and textbooks have been trying to uncover the similarities and differences. For this reason the curriculum and textbooks from the periods 1998- 2004 and 2004-2009 must be accessed. Formed by a literature survey method, this study is composed of five main sections that are the introduction, theoretical explanations and research, methods, findings and interpretations, conclusions and recommendations.The aim of this study is to reveal similarities and differences of Turkish textbooks for 6th and 7th grades that have been applied to the contents of the text in Turkish textbooks of primary 6th and 7th grades applied social science lessons in history class issues associated with the old and the new curriculum in terms of the comparison.This study is a descriptive document analysis. During research, available resources for the aim of the study are found, each source examined carefully and the necessary information, taken and notes set out for the evaluation process to be carried out. As a result, in Turkish textbooks, the texts of history subjects usually from Ataturk and Kemalism, the national cultural items, on certain days and weeks in line with the national liberation day. Although in old Turkish textbooks the subjects of history consist of legends, on the other hand the new curriculum does not give place to legends of the Turkish people. In old Turkish textbooks, the history subjects of social studies lesson take part in order to take lessons from history or to be proud of the glorious achievements on the contrary in the new Turkish textbooks the historical texts were placed for introducing history subjects. And it is almost determined that there is no relationship between the history subjects in Turkish and Social Science curriculums. However there are minimal common similarities in the study but these are so small that they do not affect this study.Keywords: Turkish Lesson Texts, Social Sciences, Curriculum, History topics, Textbook, educational programme
