Social and economic life in the Crimea according to 64 numbered, 1154-1156/1741-1743 dated book of Kadiasker

One of the most important sources utilized in social and local history research is undoubtedly the court records. The court records kept by the kadis who administered the justice system in societies such as the Ottoman Empire and the Crimean Khanate were called Şer'iyye sicilleri, Kadi sicili or Kadiasker book. These registers contain information on many issues such as the lifestyle of the people, marriage, divorce, assault, inheritance, murder, blood money, theft and real estate sales. The court records kept in the Crimean Khanate are similar to the court records kept in the Ottoman Empire. Through these records, we can shed light on many aspects of the people within the borders of the khanate, such as their family structure, economic status, neighborhood culture, eating and drinking habits, and professional lives. The court cases provide an opportunity to learn about the leading religious and ethnic groups of the society. Based on these cases, we can gain access to the economic activities, livelihoods and social lives of these ethnic and religious groups. Crimean Kadiasker Book No. 64 (1154-1156 AH/ 1741-1743 AD) was transcripted and made evaluations on the socio-economic structure of the Crimean Khanate. The main aim of this study is to focus on the religious, ethnic and socio-cultural structure of the population living in the Crimean Peninsula.
