The relationship before coronary angiography with comfort after coronary angiography in individuals over 65 years of age

In the study, the relationship between fear before coronary angiography and comfort after coronary angiography in individuals over 65 years of age was examined. "Socio-Demographic and Medical Information Form", "Surgical Fear Scale", "Early Postoperative Comfort Scale" and "Anxiety and Visual Comparison Scale" were used as data collection tools in the study in which 201 patients aged 65 years and older who underwent coronary angiography participated. Before the intervention, the Socio-Demographic and Medical Information Form and the Surgical Fear Scale were administered, and after the intervention, the Early Postoperative Comfort Scale was administered by face-to-face interview between the 3rd and 4th hours after the patient arrived at the service after angiography. The data obtained within the scope of the study were analyzed with SPSS 22 statistical program. As a result of the study, It was observed that healthy management of anxiety and fear before angiography had a positive effect on post-angiography comfort level in individuals over 65 years of age. A negative moderate correlational relationship was detected between anxiety and fear levels before coronary angiography and comfort level after coronary angiography. In addition, as a result of stepwise regression analysis, it was determined that age before coronary angiography, presence of chronic disease, anxiety and fear were among the significant negative predictors of comfort levels after coronary angiography.
