Violin education of children between 7-11 years old

The main objective of this study is that the procedure, technic and method books used at the starting step of violin education which is choosen suitable for the violin education with the age and personal specialities of the children who are about 7-11 years old in Turkey. For this reason the state conservatoires, which are giving violin education to the students who are about 7-11 years old in the education semester of 2006-2007, are choosen as the universe for the study. 13 violin instructers who are giving violin lectures for the students about 7-11 years old and 2 violin teachers who have written method books from the consevatoires at Ankara and stanbul like Bilkent University State Conservatoire, Hacettepe State Conservatoire, stanbul State Conservatoire and Mimar Sinan University State Conservatoire, are taken as the sample group of the study. In this study two different research models are used. Learning styles of the children about 7-11 years old at the teorethical bases of study and when the vi development ve learning features of this age group are researched, surce scannig model is used. Situation study model which is proper for the subproblems of research, are used. The strategy of increasing in varieties are placed in this study. The sources, journals, magazines and thesis studies which are related with the subject, are examined; the interview which is qualitative research method is used, the researchers notes, experts thoughts and the documents prepared by the teachers, have shown direction to this study. At the data analyse phase of this study, content analysis which is one of the qualitative research analysis type, has been used. Associated themes are formed by coding performed observations and interviews. The observed patterns are presented with charts. At the final of the evaluation of study datas, the performed methods and technics by violin teachers are characterized according to the ability, purpose and family situation of children. These teachers are giving education by using materials, methods and books which are used during their violin education. The method book which is called as ?Methods Resultant? should have to be proper at the starting step of children about 7-11 years old with pictures, colors, shapes, explanations and - especially two sound with piano - tendency of child?s familiar songs.
