Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to determine the level of achievements of 8th grade primary school students in terms of understanding Atatürk's principles and sense of national state in the course of Atatürk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution.Teaching students the concept of national state and Atatürk's Principles in primary schools is crucial point in order to raise students as individuals who are well aware of the national principles. Students growing up as individuals who have learned the the concept of national state and Atatürk's Principles and who have been well aware of the philosophy of the Republic of Turkey and who are sensitive in practice will serve their country.This study is totally applied in 16 primary schools in Cenrtal Ankara districts ( 8 districts) , some of which are in a low socioeconomic level and the rest of which are in a high socioeconomic level. Developed by researcher , application tool consisting of 42 questions includes gains related to the concept of Atatürk's principles and national state of 8th grade course of Revolution and Atatürk's principles.Moving from the answers given to questions in this survey, It has been observed how well the students have understood the philosophy of Atatürk's principles and national state concept and how well students have achieved to understand the concept of Ataturk's principles and national state vision in primary schools. In interpreting the results of survey , primary schools' socio- economic status and gender variables have been taken into account.As a result of this study, it can be said that 8th grade primary school students who have attended in the course of Revolution and Atatürk's principles have reached at a sufficient level of gains related to the concept of Atatürk's principles and national state.
