Analyzing the level of internet addiction and physical activities participation according to several variabilities among the children who are 9-14 years old

The aim of this study is researching the reletionship between 9-14 age group children's internet addiction and the physical activity participation level (51.3%) 593 male, 506 (48.7%) female, whose age's were 12.01± 1.22 years whose weights were 49.12 ± 11.86 kg a total of 1039 middle school students participated in this study. Physical activity scale and internet addiction scale developed for children were used as data collection tools. Statistical programmes developed for the social sciences were used in eveluating the data. Firstly normalization was observed in the analysis of the obtained data. Normality distrubution was done by using Shapio-Wilk test. Independent Sample Test was used for evaluating normal distribution and Mann-Whitney U test which is nonparametric form was used fort he others. The internet addiction levels vary significantly in terms of the gender of participants, the lesson success, their mothers sport habit ( p<0.05). Physical activity levels vary according to their gender, parents participation in sport, time spent online and participation in social activity (p<0.05). There is an opposite relation ship between physical activity level and internet addiction (p<0.05). As a result, to increase the level of participation in physicalactivity in the fight against internet addiction is an importand criterian for middle school students. It is importand to make initiatives inline with sociodemographic characteristics that affect internet addiction and physical activity level in term of preventing internet addiction .
