Performing a form and makam analysis on the Bektaşi hymns compiled from Abdulbaki Gölpınarlı

Bektaşi tradition is built on Hacı Bektaş Veli symbol and has effected the post 15th century Anatolian culture in ways of philosophy, social life and art. This religious tradition uses music to communicate its ideas. In this sense, many kinds of music of this tradition has played a big part to get its ideas to reality. Since 19th century, Bektaşi religious tradition has lost its popularity, Bektaşi music tradition has stayed as the only way to self explain its philosophy. Because of this, it is very important to study one of the most important characters of the last era of this religious tradition, that is Abdülbaki Gölpınar and his collection of 'nefes' to remember this old traditions rich legacy that it left to our culture.
