A critical edition and analysis of 'Abdullâh Galîkûrî's work al-İ'lâl

In this study, the important linguist of the Imadiye emirate period, Abdullah b. The work of Shaykh Ilyās al- Galīkūrī (d. after 1099/1687) named al-İ'lāl, written in the field of sarf science, has been investigated and examined. This work's content, style, analysis, examples, sources, etc. examined in terms of elements. This work's content, style, analysis, examples, sources, etc. has been examined in terms of elements. This work of Galīkūrī is an important book of interpretation and i'lâl that goes into the details of the roots of the words taught orally in madrasahs and makes it easier for the readers to understand these roots. Another importance of the work is that it is the commentary on the treatise named al-Tasrīfu'l-'Izzî by 'Izzuddîn al- Zanjānī, which has been taught and memorized by students in madrasas in the Islamic world for many years. Although this work was popular at the time, it was later lost among the pages of history. No classical or modern work has been done on it other than an unpublished article. Therefore, the work in question is a work worth investigating and examining. The study consists of an introduction, two chapters, conclusion and the analyzed text. In the introduction, information is given about the definition, subject, importance of sarf science and important authors and their works in this field. In the first part, after discussing Zanjānī 's life, his works and his work called al-Tasrīfu'l-'Izzî, the life of Galīkūrī, the author of the commentary, his scientific aspect, his works, and his influence on later works, etc. has been examined. In the second part, the author's work called el-İlâl; It is discussed in detail in terms of its name, affiliation, reason for writing, content, method, compilation, examples, analysis, sources, place among other commentaries, description and comparison of manuscripts and the method followed in the investigation. In the conclusion section, an analysis of the results is made and some opinions and suggestions are presented. In the last part, there are visual examples of the available copies of the work and the researched text of the work.
