Abdurrahman b. Ahmed b. Ali al-Humaydi's work "Menhu's-Semi bi Serhi Temlihi'l Bedi bi Medhi's-Sefi" (Critical edition)

The aim of this study is to bring Abdurrahman b. Ahmed b. Ali al-Ḥumeydî's work named Menḥu's-semi bi serḥi Temliḥi'l bedi bi medḥi's-sefî, which he wrote in the field of bediiyyat, to the world of literatüre. The author wrote many poems, especially prophetic eulogies, and collected them in an alphabetical system in his divan. Apart from this divan, the author has three more works. This work that we are working on is one of them. As a result of the examinations, no information about his date of birth could be found. It is understood that al-Ḥumeydi lived in Egypt, was known as "ehl-i varrak" and died in d.1005/1597. al-Ḥumeydi bases this lineage on his great-grandfather Abdullah b. Zubayr, who traveled to Egypt with the hadith scholar Süfyan b. Uyeyne (d.198/813) and passed away in h. 219. Our research consists of the review and analysis of the work named Menhu's-semi bi şerhi temlihi'l bedi bi medhi's-sefi, which is the commentary of al-Humaydi's eulogy called Temlihu'l bedi bi medhi's-sefi. The limited number of independent studies written in the Bedi'iyye genre and the fact that most of the manuscripts related to this field have not yet been edited has been one of the factors that led us to this research. Our study consists of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction part, the aim, subject, scope and sources of the research are emphasized; Information was given about the science of bedi and bediiyyat, and the authors who wrote works in the type of bediiyyat were introduced. In the first chapter, al-Humeydi and his works are mentioned; In the second part, The work that we have analyzed has been introduced. In the third chapter, the review and edition critique of the work called Menhu's-semi bi serhi temlihi'l bedi bi medhi's-sefi, which is also the subject of our study, was made.
