Abstract (EN)
Pelvic fractures are traumas with high mortality and morbidity rates due to the trauma mechanism and energy. Concomitant organ injuries, severity of trauma, head trauma, coagulopathy, advanced age and presence of bleeding are factors that are increasing mortality. The aim of our study is to determine the dempgraphic characteristics of pelvic and femoral head fractures and the factors affecting mortality and morbidity. In our study, the patients who applied to the emergency department between 01.01.2011-01.01.2021 and over 18 years old with trauma-related pelvis, femoral head and neck fractures were included in the study. The patients' name-surname, admission number, age, gender, additional diseases, pelvis fracture and type, femoral neck fracture and type, accompanying pathologies, procedures performed in the emergency department, outcome, length of hospital stay, mortality, type of treatment applied during hospitalization were recorded. In our study, a statistically significant relationship was found between the age an gender of the patients and the classification of pelvis fractures, but there was no significant relationship in terms of femur fractures. When the trauma mechanism is examined, a statistically significant relationship was observed between mortality and mortality. In conclusion, age, gender, comorbidity, trauma mechanism, mortality and patient outcome were found to be significant in this study, in which we retrospectively analyzed trauma-induced pelvis and femoral head fractures.
