Abstract (EN)
STUDYING RETROSPECTIVELY OF CARDIOPULMONARY ARRESTSWHO ARE BRINGED TO EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTCardiopulmonary arrest is the stopping of spontaneous respiration andcirculation in a sudden. Resuscitation can be identify as the effort of gaining heartbeats, respiration and heart functions again. Death, which is describable and definite,provides a country?s health service quality and gives in formation about it?s common,additionally it ensures to compare health service quality between countries, suicides,cancers, accidents and heart disorders are the 4 causes of death in the countries withhigh health level. Coronary heart diseases are responsible for the 90 percent ofsudden deaths in adults; ventricular fibrillation (VF) is the most observed heartrhythm during the arrest in these patients. Associated with this, the time betweendefibrillation with arrest is related with the success of resuscitation greatly, becauseVF arrests are generally rescuable.The aim of this study is to contribute concerning statistic about the causes ofdeath and to appraise the success of resuscitation on the patients that are taken to theemergency hospital as cardiopulmonary arrest.The study is done retrospectively in the Emergency Department of FıratMedical Center; information?s were acquired from patient folders emergency notes.Because of not reaching to the information?s of seven patients in 341 thatwere taken to the emergency as cardiopulmonary or pulmonary, they were out ofevaluation November 1st 2001 and August 30th 2004 while the cause of 170 patientsin 334 were cardiac causes, 39 patients were central nervous systems diseases, of 31were trauma, of 25 were respiratory system diseases, of 14 were penetrating traumaresults, of 11 were arrests because cancers, 12 of patients were resulted withdischarging from hospital 8 of these patients were pulmonary arrest, 4 of thesepatients were cardiopulmonary arrest.Key words: Cardiopulmonary arrest, emergency service, death causes,resuscitation2
