Abstract (EN)
INTRODUCTİON AND PURPOSE In the ambustion, coagulation necrosis which emerges from the factors such as temperature, electricity, chemicals, and radiation are developed from an energy that the tissues are intolerable of. The severity of the burnt depends on the temperature level, duration of contact and thickness of skin that is exposed. While in the localized surface burns the organism resolves the problem with local response, the large and deep systematic burns may result in death. This study aims to analyze the factors that affects mortality. MATERİAL AND METHOD In the study, with the approval of Dicle University Medical Faculty Ethics Committee we have analyzed retrospectively 1684 patients' files that applied to Dicle University Emergency Medicine Center with burnt complaints between January 1 2019 and January 1 2020.The effects of PLT, MPV, PLR, NLR, RDW parameters on mortality and prognosis are investigated. Chi square test for the statistical analyses and categorical differences is used and for the constant variables student's t test is used. P<0.005 value is considered as meaningful. FİNDİNGS Out of 560 patients that are included in the study 339 of them were male and 221 female, with an average age of 11,71 ± 17,63. Survivors' were comprised of 331 male and 216 female with average age of 11,61 ± 17,54. 8 of the ones that are died were male and 5 were male, with an average age of 15,77 ± 21,37. Those who were in the intensive care unit were 167 male with an average age of 11,91 ± 18,39 and 118 female with an average age of 11,50 ± 16,83. DİSCUSSİON AND CONCLUSİONS In our study we have found out that the burnt percentage, the presence of 3rd degree burnt, the high values of WBC, NEU, MPV, presence of extra trauma, glucose, urea and high levels of potassium are the factors that increase mortality. Furthermore, we have found out that age, sex, lots of whole blood parameters, biochemical parameters, and a history of surgical operation are not meaningful statistically.
