Özet (EN)

ABSTRACT THE DISTRIBUTION OF TAENHD AE SP. AND ECBİNOCOCCUS GRANULOSUS IN STRAY AND DOMESTIC DOGS IN ADANA DISTRICT Parasitic diseases are widely seen in little developed and developing countries. Because the dogs live with human beings, the parasites which transmit from dogs to humans are quite important for public health and they can also cause death. Some of the most important diseases are originated from the cestodes that are linking with Taeniidae family which belong to the dogs. Echinococcus granulosus which is the most important of them is found in this family and causes cystic echinococcosis in humans and other mammals. We have got different results in two different groups in the study on the stabilization of species of Taeniidae family in the dogs. We examined totally 248 dogs stool in two independent groups which are called direct examination and drug group and we ascertained some species of Taeniidae family in 24 (% 9,68) of them. In our study we found out cestode species linked to Taeniidae family in 6 (% 3,97) of 151 dogs in the direct examination group, in 18 (% 18,56) of 97 dogs in the group given praziquantel It was seen that the drug application was a more effective method than the direct study in the cestode species stabilization (p<0,001). Also in the study Dipylidiwn caninum, Strongyloses stercorals, Toxocara cams which are important for human health were found. Although the dogs do not have intermediate and definitive hosts except for these parasites, they may be infected with some of the parasites and serve as reservoirs. Adult form of Echinococcus granulosus was not found in any dog in the study. Key words: Echinococcus granulosus, Taeniidae sp, Dog, Praziquantel, Adana vn
