Dr. Süha BERBEROĞLUThis study examines the reasons of flooding in the city of Adana and thedamage that flooding might cause when and if it happens. It will also look into theresearches which have been done in this field to date. There are several objectivesthroughout this study. One of them is to prove the negative impacts of poorinfrastructure and drainage system of the city on Saricam river. The other one is tocreate an organic link between open and green spaces which is important to have agrowing and sustainable city. Ultimately, the aim is to prevent floodings andunauthorised constructions and use the natural flora surrounding the river whenlandscaping.Key Words: River Improvement, Adana Saricam River, Landscape PlanningII
