Job satisfaction and occupational attitude levels' of trainee teachers

Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is, to investigate the level of trainee teachers job attitudes and their job satisfaction, level differ according to some variant (gender, age, branch, school type they are working, faculty type they were graduated from and the reasons of choosing teaching professions. Furthermore it was aimed to identify the relationship between trainee teachers? job attitude and job satisfaction. The research has been applied to the 203 trainee teachers who work different schools within the boundaries 26 districts of İzmir province by the year of education 2012-2013. Two scales which have been called Job attitude scale? and ?job satisfaction scale? were used to collect data of the research. The research model is relational cross hatching. SPSS 15.00 statistical package programme was used for data analysis at the research. For analyses of quantified data of the study, we have used frequency and percentage, means (average), standard deviation, t-test, one way analysis of variance, Post Hoc LSD test and Brown Spearman Rank Difference Correlation Coefficient. Research results showed that trainee teachers? job attitude is positive. Job attitude levels of trainee teachers are showing discrepancy in terms of the reasons of choosing teaching professions but no significant differences according to their gender, age, branch, school type they are working, and faculty type they were graduated from. Job attitude level of trainee teachers? who choose this job because of the guarantee of employment is lower than the other ones. Trainee teachers who choose this job inasmuch as be impressed by their own teachers have the most positive job attitude. A Job satisfaction level of trainee teachers? is partial. Job satisfaction levels of trainee teachers? no show discrepancy in terms of gender, age, branch, faculty type they were graduated from and school type they are working. However it is obtained that job satisfaction level of trainee teachers shows meaningful discrepancy in terms of the reasons of choosing teaching professions. Job satisfaction level of trainee teachers? who choose this job because of the guarantee of employment is lower than the other ones. Trainee teachers who choose this job inasmuch as be impressed by their own teachers have the highest job satisfaction level. Moreover, positive, high and significant correlation coefficient was found between job attitude level of trainee teachers and job satisfaction level of trainee teachers.
