Adnan Menderes is one of the significant politicians and leaders that impress the political life of the Republic of Turkey. After the transition to multi-party system in Turkey, he was the permanent leader of Democratic Party and he served as the prime minister for ten years. We know that Adnan Menderes received many letters from the citizens during his being a prime minister. These letters have very different kind of contents, such as; labor and appointment demands, complaints, money and support demands, invitations, get well wishes, convict demands, different kind of demands, from busines world, farmer problems, the offers for supporting the state, suggestions about party and government organizations and activities, Cyprus problem, the demands and pleasures of minorities. To know and examine the mentioned letters will help us to get essential ideas about the important period of Turkish political life; about the fields of political, social, economic and culture; about the relationship between the citizens and the government and about the reaction of the citizen to the party and the leader. Key words: Democratic Party, Adnan Menderes, Citizen Letters.
