Abstract (EN)

Critique of Pure Reason in its transcendental approach tries to solve some distinctive problems of modern philosophy such as the nature of space and time, relation of subject to object, necessary and universal conditions of knowledge, casuality problem, grounding of objectivity, constitution of the outer world, self-reflexivity, truth conception and the status of metaphysics. Reconsidering Kant's responses to those matters, his position in the modern subject conceptions and the epistemological basis of his attitude towards enlightenment through Adorno's criticism provides a more productive way of thinking the Critique of Pure Reason compared to traditional treatments. Adorno's specific concepts which come from different origins like non-identity, instrumental reason, force field, dialectical image, block metaphysics, philosophy of salvage, dialectical mediation and reification have essential features to broaden the epistemological horizon of a philosophical investigation. For this reason, a possible dialogue between Kant and Adorno with regards to modern subject and rationality debates requires an epistemological analysis centering Critique of Pure Reason. The aim of this study is to investigate both the possibility and limits of the theoretical assumptions in the Critique of Pure Reason and Adorno's arguments about modern subject philosophy through his critiques of Kant's epistemology.
