Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study aims to compare the sleep, quality of life, nutrition, and physical activity status of shift and non-shift personnel. Materials and Methods: The research was carried out on male personnel between the ages of 18-65 working in shifts and non-shifts. Within the scope of the study, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PUKI) and SF-36 Quality of Life Assessment Scale were applied to the participants. In addition, demographic characteristics of the participants, frequency of food consumption, 3-day food consumption record and physical activity level were also questioned. Results: While it was determined that the rate of the smoking habit of the group working in shifts was higher (p=0.002), it was concluded that the education level of the group working without shifts was higher (p=0.001). There was no difference in anthropometric measurement values between the groups (p>0.05). When the sleep quality of the participants was examined, While no statistically significant difference was detected, the sleep duration was lower. It was determined that the score was higher in the shift working group (p=0.001). No difference was detected between the groups in SF-36 Quality of Life scores (p>0.005). It was determined that the energy, carbohydrate, and protein consumption amount of the group working in shifts was higher (p<0.001). It was determined that individuals working without shifts had higher percentages of saturated, mono, and polyunsaturated fatty acids and fat consumption (p<0.001). While there was no difference between the cholesterol consumption amounts between the groups, it was determined that the fiber consumption amount of the group working in shifts was higher (p<0.05). When the physical activity status was examined, it was determined that there was no difference between the groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was concluded that the working model of the individuals could be effective on the smoking status and nutritional habits. Close monitoring of individuals exposed to a shift work Schedule It is very important to provide education and training to individuals on necessary issues.
