Evaluation of agricultural publishing services in Agrı

This study aims to discuss the conditions required to improve the e ciency of the agricultural extension services by determining the current situation and to assert suggestions in this aspect. For that purpose, 100 businesses obligated to the Provincial Agriculture and Forest Dictorate of Ağrı that practise plant and animal production were determined and a survey was conducted. According to the results gathered from the surveys conducted, 12% of the proprietors who participated in the study were female and 88% of them were male. Although the female labour force has more effort, it is evident that they are not as active as male labour force and that 34% of the breeders pursue this occupation for the maintenance of their families and 3S% for commercial purposes. It is clear that the breeders don't use the resources they acquire effectively enough and they are too dependent on traditional methods. It is stated that extension activities should be more effective so as to enable breeders to benefit from new technological implementations and that there might be an increase in production and efficiency thanks to the increase in extension activities. It is also inferred that civil society organizations might take part in providing the participation of farmers in rural areas with their chief farmers.
