Analysis of Ahmed Vesȋm's Divan

This study was conducted to analyze the 18th century poet Ahmed Vesîm's Divan. The aim of this study is to give the Ahmed Vesîm Divan which reflects the 18th century mentality to our literature. At the introductory part of the study, the characteristics of the period he lived, the life of Ahmed Vesim, his literary personality, his views on the Divan, poet and poetry, the language and the stylistic features of the Divan were given and the proverbs and idioms mentioned in the Divan were determined. In our analysis, we examined the Divan in four sections under the titles of Religion-Sufism, Society, Humanity and Nature and evaluated the topics in detail. We explained the couplets in the Divan and exemplified them under the appropriate titles.
