Abstract (EN)
"Narrative semiotics" is a theory which is based on Aristo and Platon‟s ideas about "narrative". Genette, who altered Roland Barthes‟ ideas on poetics and narratology by improving, explores his method with which he focuses on narrative and narrator in the work he wrote dated 1972 called Figures III, under the topics of "mood", "voice", "order", "duration" and "frequency" found in the chapter called "Discours du recit." Genette suggests "Universe of the story narrated" (fr. diégese ) and "pure narrative" (fr. diégésis) concepts in which there is no dialogue involved. In Palimpsestes written in 1982, he says that texts have absolute relations with other texts. Serialized in 1948 by Cumhuriyet Daily News, novelized in 1949, Tanpınar‟s Huzur is found suitable to be analyzed in terms of narrative semiotics as a novel expanding the events of twenty-four hours with the modernist perception, turning back to a year ago with analepsis. In this work, Genette, who treats the literary work as "the fabric of figures", plot is examined, narrative is focused on and character, time, space categories are identified and presented in tabular form through narrative analepsis and narrative prolepsis. In addition to this, it has been observed that Huzur was formed based on the Classic and Folk Literature branches of Turkish literature as well as East and West Literature by defining examples of citation-reference and allusion (implicit reference) under the title of the relationship of Kristeva‟s term intertextual relations. Besides, intersemiotic relations have been examined based on signs belonging material and nonmaterial culture detected in the novel; different point of views have been developed about the characters based on the text‟s references to art such as music, painting, sculpture alongside the references to medications, clothings, foods and drinks, religious belief and politics.
